CSI#79 - Orroroo

Hi there everyone,CSI #79 sketch is up and running this week
and with such an amazing colour palette,
I just had to join in.

So here is my page that I have created
using a photograph on one of our travels in the countryside.
"Orroroo" is a little town just before you enter the
Flinders Ranges in South Australia.
Driving along everything is dry and barren
A little rain fell down and then
the sunshine follow - we had to stop
and look at the view and take photos of the
awesome Rainbow that appeared before us.
I think you can see the rainbow there
in the distance inside the photo.
It was so clear and right above us.

I love the poem by Dorothy McKellar "My Country"
she explains in her poem what Australia means to us.
I have printed some of the poem and placed on my page.

For evidence

4 Journalling reasons why I scrapped this page
(1. I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains,
2. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel seas,
3. Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me,
4. Core of my heart, my country, land of rainbows gold)

I think this sums up why I love this country, and very proud to be an Australian.

Here is ONLY an portion of the poem
(Just the parts I like) Hee hee

My Country a poem by
Dorothea McKeller

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains,
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me.

Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us,
We see the cattle die -
But when the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The stealthy soaking rain.

Core of my heart, my country!
Land of the rainbow gold,
For flood and fire and famine,
She pays us back threefold;
Over the thirsty paddocks,
Watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze.

Well that's all for today!
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend :)
Cheers Adriana XX
