WW1 - Design Team Member

Some exciting news to share, I am now on the Design Team for
"White with 1". This is a great honour and I am so excited. I love doing
their monthly challenges.
WW1 pushes your creativity to design layouts using
only White as your base plus one other colour or element.
December being the month of Christmas, our first DT Challenge was
to create a layout a

WHITE + CHRISTMAS THEMED + CHRISTMAS PHOTO

Because christmas papers come in so many gorgeous colours and design
we had to use a Christmas range of papers -  and we had to choose papers
that inspire you.
I chose the Kaisercraft ,  "Dec 25th Collection", these papers are
so vintage with rich burgundy, green and gold.
I also loved lace and ribbons so I had to incorporate them in the layout.
The image of Santa is from "Meg's Garden".
And the chipboard flourish is from "Imaginarium Designs" chipboard
which I embossed and inked.
check out the other design teams layouts.... they are just some amazing and
inspiring creations here

With the left over papers and other bits and pieces I created a Christmas Tag using the same colour palette.......I just love the images of Angels at Christmas - the image I used is from
"Meg's Garden".

My DD has an advent calendar which count down the number of days till Christmas
She changes this every day....... in Australia there is only 21 days till christmas..... 3 weeks to go.....
....so many things to do before then.......HO HO HO.
Have a great week

Vintage Summer by the Sea

Meg's Garden Design Team  Challenge - Create projects using the theme "Summer"
Since I love vintage, I decided to do "Vintage Summer by the Sea"
Check out Meg's Garden Blog here http://megsgardenblog.blogspot.com/
for all the other design team members projects.
I created 4 items.
The first is a "Triptych". You may ask, What is that?????
A "triptych" is a work of art divided into 3 sections, it was used very often in the 17th & 18th century.
I used Kaisercraft bay window MDF panels as the base and painted it and decorated it with Meg's Garden papers, collage images and embellishments.
The only items not from meg's garden was the muslim and shells.
I call this project " Vintage Summer by the Sea".
It is self standing project. The panels are attached with raffia, to give it that summer feel.
I loved the little bottle of sand, can you find it the middle panel???, it adds just a touch of summer.

Vintage Summer by the Sea

I loved all the little embellishments from Meg's Garden, the sea charms and
bottle of sand, raffia, fibres, flowers and ribbons.
I also love the german scrap for corners of the photos.
Go check out Meg's Garden website here: http://megsgarden.com/
on all the range of embellishments she has to offer.

The next item I made was a layout called -  "Vintage Summer Days".
Vintage Summer Days

The next project is an easel card -  "Vintage Summer Babies".

And my last project I created is a "Vintage Summer Photo album"

I had so much fun creating these projects. A list of all the products  I used to create
everyone of my "Vintage Summer Collection" are on "Meg's Garden" blog.

Please follow this link to Meg's Garden Blog

YOU - WW1

Over at "White with 1" this month challenge is

White (as per usual) + Bright colour + Flowers

I had these blue coloured flowers -
patina, sea breeze and soft blue,
in my stash of supplies in a box.
It is not a colour I use at all, but thought it would look good
doing this challenge with this palette of
bright blues and white background.
here is a link to White with 1 blog
have a look at the other design teams layouts.
http://whitewith1.blogspot.com/
here is my take on the challenge titled  -  YOU

White + Bright (blue) + Flowers challenge - November 2011
YOU - are simply ONE of a KIND.
Imaginarium designs chipboards - picket fence and alphas

I used a small flower stamp and distress stain (broken china) to create that stamped effect .
Some of the flowers look a bit green in the photo but they are definitely blue.
Thanks for looking
have a good day

WISH

"Each night I wish upon a star,
and hope my dreams come true,
Although I wish for many things,
I mostly wish for you".

Over at "The Color room"  - the new Palette #85 has been posted.
The Colours are Raspberry, Fushia, White and Sunflower.
These colours are not my usual colours that I use in my scrapbooking,
so it was a real challenge for me.
I guess that is why I love doing these challenges, when I can,
it pushes you to do more that just scrap a page or card.
You have to challenge yourself and do things outside your comfort zone.
The sketch was very inspirational as well.
Thanks to  "The Color Room" designers and team,
for all your inspirational colour palettes and sketches.
The Word for the title was inspired by
"The Bird is the Word blog - WISH"
Their blogs are here - please visit them
http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/
http://thecolorroom.ning.com/

I used texture paste, inks and paint to create a bit of dimension, on the page.
The photos of DD at the age of 3 years, very adorable at that age.
The yummy Flourishes and Alpha chipboards are from "Imaginarium Designs"

Meg's Garden Design Team Christmas Challenge

When my package from Meg's Garden arrived, it was like Christmas was here already.
In the box were papers, ribbons, holly, beautiful lace and these gorgeous Jewel Topped Pins, German scrap, Gold Flitter and the sound of some Jingle Bells, yes the bells were ringing.
So I decided that there was so much gorgeous goodies that I decided to do three items.
The first is a Christmas Angel page Layout.
With the sound of those Jingle Bells, it reminded me of the old classic 1946 Movie,
"It's a wonderful Life" which at the end of the movie the family gather around the christmas tree and they all say "Every time a bell rings an Angel gets its Wings".

I selected two pages of "Red and Cream Lace paper 12" x 12 , cut out the middle and cut it in half so the borders are the same all around.
The middle section with the angel is from the Mini paper Pack Christmas 1. In this pack you get 2 each of the six different styles of the Christmas 1 papers mini version. Again I cut it into half into two triangle shapes and joined together to create the same border all around.
The vintage photo in the middle is from Meg's Garden Vintage Christmas 1 collage sheet

"Every time a Bell rings an Angel gets its wings" LAYOUT
Meg's garden DT Christmas Challenge using
 Meg's Garden Red & Cream Lace Paper range 12" x 12" &
Meg's Garden Mini Paper pack Christmas 1.
Meg's Garden Vintage Christmas 1 Collage sheet
Meg's Garden Lace,  Jingle Bells,  Jewel Pins,  Ribbons and Gold German scrap.

All the lace is from Meg's Garden, the gold flitter around the edge is also available from Meg's garden
Some of the flowers I created with the papers of the middle section  and some red cardstock using Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals Diecut. I have included in the centre of these flowers some other paper flowers.
The angel holding the jingle bells and the jingle bells are all available from Meg's Garden.

Next is a Christmas card,

Christmas Angels Card
Using - Meg's Garden Mini Paper Pack Christmas 1
Meg's Garden Red & Cream Lace paper 12" x 12"
Meg's Garden Jewel Pins , Lace & Green Holly
Meg's Garden Vintage Christmas 1 Collage sheet
I just love Vintage Christmas angels and vintage photos in general.
Meg's Garden has the most adorable collection of collage sheets available to purchase in
A4 sheets and 12" x 12".
Do pop in  to Meg's Garden website here  http://megsgarden.com/

My next project is a Vintage Angels Canvas

Merry Christmas Vintage Angels Canvas
Canvas size 20cm x 25.5 cm
Using Meg's Garden Vintage Christmas 1 Collage sheet
Meg's Garden Mini paper pack Christmas 1
Meg's Garden Lace, Jewel Pins

Using a canvas I painted it cream and gold then painted gesso with some tissue paper creating a distress and folded look and inked it. I made the flowers and vine leaves out of red cardstock and some of Meg's Garden Mini Christmas pack paper.  I framed a vintage christmas collage photo. Glimmermisted the beautiful Lace from Meg's Garden. This will be hanging in my family room when I decorate the room for Christmas.

The story of YOU & ME - Bird is the Word

Challenge at "Bird is the Word" currently is use the word  "YOU AND ME".
Check it out here   http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/
So with the inspirational sketch and colour  pallette #79 from "The color Room"
check it out here  http://thecolorroom.ning.com/

The Story of YOU & ME

When I saw the sketch it reminded me of another
inspirational talented lady her name is Jane Tregenza from "Seriously Scrapbooking" Shop.
She is famous for her Patchwork Squares.
She spends hours designing her squares for us to do her classes.
They are so unique with all their bits and pieces.
I did these squares really quickly, so they are not that great as hers but they are fine for my layout.

All the chipboard I used for this layout was from, "Imaginarium Designs"
check it out here http://imaginariumdesigns.blogspot.com/
The background page is from Tim Holtz Ideaology kraft resist paper
and put some blue and tan colour on it.
And the photo was edited on a fun website called "photofunia"
It was fun playing around with it all.
Thanks for taking the time reading and looking at my blog

 Cheers *Adriana*     :)

FUN - White with 1 challenge

White with 1 challenge this month of October
Scrap a layout using WHITE  +  BLACK + PAINTS/MISTS
Visit them here  http://whitewith1.blogspot.com/
I changed the photo of DD to look like a pencil sketch.

This is a real challenge for me,  as I am not used to doing layouts
with just one or two colours.
My style has a more vintage and distressed feel and look.
No distressing here because I thought it might look a bit GREY.
It was a real challenge for me, I am sure out of my comfort zone here
but I gave it a go.
I had fun anyway playing around with black and white.
Used black paint then used a mask with texture paste for the flourish
"Imaginarium Designs" chipboards painted with black and white paint.

So, have yourself a go, challenge yourself.
Hope you have a fun weekend. :)
Thanks for visiting.

Memory - Lifetime of Memories

Bird is the word challenge is Memory or Memories.

I made this page of my grandmother, I never met her because she passed away during the
World War 2.
She was my father's mother. She had 9 children (7 sons & 2 daughters).
She was also a very good dressmaker and sewing was her passion.
I have been lucky enough to have been given to me a piece of her embroidery,
just  an exquisite piece of handwork.
Something to treasure, a heirloom to pass to my daughter one day.

A Lifetime of Memories          Close up of the dress form on page
The chipboard "lifetime of memories" is from Imaginarium Designs"

The Colour Room #74 challenge - Father's Day

Happy Father's Day
The Colour Room #74 Challenge, loved the colours in this challenge
so I decided to do a card for this Special Day
I did a card for My Darling Husband from
My Darling Daughter and Me.

The inspirational Sketch and colour theme are from "The Colour Room"
The chipboard word "DAD" is from Imaginarium Designs
Papers used are mostly from "Kaisercraft".
I would like to wish all the Dads in the world a very happy day.
Spend special time with your dad, tell him how much he means to you.

I found this poem about Dad's on the internet
and created a card for my daughter to give to her
dad (my lovely husband).

A Father means so many things...
An understanding heart,
A source of strength and support
right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness,
No matter what comes your way,
A special generosity and always affection, too.
A father means so many things
when he's a man like you......

HAPPY FATHER"S DAY

Enjoy your day. Thanks for visiting *Adriana* :)
