Australian Scrapbooking Ideas #29 - Altered Jewellery Boxes

Hi everyone.......the lastest issue of
"Australian Scrapbooking Ideas" Issue #29
is out NOW
I am very excited and fortunate to have 3 projects publishing in this issue.

Today, I will share the projects here on my blog
all the step by step and materials list
is in the magazine.

My commissioned projects was to create with old jewellery boxes.
MY daughter had a couple of them, Now that she is a little older, she has finished playing with them. They still play music, when you turn the key,
so I recycled them and altered them to make them new.

The first one I altered it into a shabby chic, very pretty jewel box,
  It was originally
a "Dora, the Explorer" jewel box.... I have
a photo of it below, of what it originally looked like....
lots of lace, velvet flowers from "Meg's Garden" and some of the
Papers from "Kaisercraft".....

The orginal box.. before its transformation.....

Next is a gentleman's gift box, decorated with
stunning metal pieces and using the
"Couture Creations" Diecut - Art Deco Border.....

The top view with metal and paint finishing touches.
This was an box I picked up from
a discount dollar store.......

And my last jewellery box was originally
all quilted and painted pastel pink, and I turned it into
a treasure box for a little boy.....
A place to keep little shells, and bits & bobs....

I decorated and lined the inside ...

Thanks go to "Kaisercraft" for the papers
"Meg's Garden" for the velvet flowers, trimmings and lace
and "Couture Creations" for the diecuts.

I thank these companies for allowing me to showcase their products
on my blog and in the magazine.

Now, all the materials and the steps by steps
on how to make your very own simple altered jewel box is
in the step by step in the magazine,
so do yourself a favour and purchase ASI #29 magazine at your local
Scrapbooking store or newsagent shop.
My altered box is on the cover - it a small photo
but it is on the cover...  Hooray... very excited!!!!

Until next time, please let me know if you have
created your own little altered jewel box.
I would love to see your take on it.....

Cheers  Adriana  xx  :)
