The Color Room

here is the sketch and colour palette

The photo I have scrapped is of my my DD and with her cousin at 

Aldinga Beach, you can drive your car on this beach. This is such a fun day,

we bring a picnic lunch, drive our car on the sandy beach. 

We place a big tent between the cars for shade from the hot sun.

 It is a great sandy beach with lots of great waves, 

we always try to visit this beach every Summer.

The kids love it, they have a fabulous time.

Well Summer is over, here in Australia. 

Earth Hour tonight and Daylight savings finishes this 

weekend. We have to turn our clocks back one hour.
 Looks like the leaves on the trees are already turning brown,  
Autumn is here........have a great weekend everyone.

DETAILS OF BIRD ART JOURNAL

I decided to turn my accordion kit into a mini book,

A Mini Bird Art Journal.

First I covered the foam covers with Music sheet paper, then

glued the pages together, so it formed 6 pages to decorate

I wanted this book to look like a study of different birds,

A vintage journal style book, with a very rustic feel to it.

Before I glued the covers to the inside pages, I used Tim Holtz

Die cut “Hardware Finding” using the long hinged shape,

cut out of Grungeboard, I inked them and secured it in place

with brads. This created a hinge for my mini book. Then glued

the pages to the cover. All the lace I used from Meg’s Garden

was white, I stained them with distress inks to make them look

vintage colour. I did the same to the Paper doilies.

You can make more pages to this book by cutting up more

Card stock and then glue it together.

I really enjoyed and had a lot of fun making 

this mini book,

Hummingbird collection - Kaisercraft

Another quick post today with a collection from 

Kaisercraft , the "Hummingbird" range

There is such a funky, bright and delightful feel to this collection. 

The bright colours in the range would look fabulous in any child's room.

I have posted a few projects that I have been lucky enough to 

create for the Adelaide Store of Kaisercraft.

Little Primrose collection - Kaisercraft

Just a quick post today,
I am very lucky to have been asked to create items  for the 

Kaisercraft Store here in Adelaide, situated on Unley Road

The lovely manager of the store, Kylie has been kind to let me 

have some of the newest ranges to create with.

My project I have called "HOPE",

the chipboard altered Billboard stand,

which Jane has designed herself, it is so unique.
Thankyou Jane for allowing me to create this altered art piece.

I covered it with Sweet Nothings paper collection from Kaisercraft.

and glued it all together.

Then I added the wonderful chippies from Imaginarium Designs.

Bonjour Paris - Meg's Garden DT March 2012

I have never been to Paris, but it is a dream of mine to visit this 

beautiful city one day. This is my next project for Meg's Garden DT.

I have a called my projects "Bonjour Paris" 
Paris is such a magical city. I created 2 cards and a 
book cover which holds an accordion set of pages 
about vintage Paris.  This is a keepsake
that holds a memento of a time in Paris when the
Eiffel Tower was built for the World Fair in early 1889.
It was too hard to bring it down so they left it there.
120 years on and it is the very symbol of Paris.
A great work of art.

Bonjour Paris

The first is an altered book with fold out pages inside.

The cover was a plain book box, a box shaped like a book which opens

out to reveal a delightful mementos of Paris.

the folded pages inside are decorated on both sides also the
inside and back covers are lined with 
Meg's Garden papers and embellishments.

White with 1 - DT project

This month for WHITE WITH 1 we have to create

White + Kraft + Layering

I created this layout using Kraft, white paint and layering Kraft papers

around the photo then painted them with white paint.

I placed some journalling around the whole page, it reads,

"Life is like a journey because we never know where we are going. The only thing we can do is hope our journey will lead us in the right direction.  We just have to keep walking until our journey stops.  Keep on moving until we make it to the promise land together. Everyone's journey is like a quest."

The photo is of my Nephew when he was 4 years old.
