Australian Scrapbooking Ideas #29 - Altered Jewellery Boxes

Hi everyone.......the lastest issue of
"Australian Scrapbooking Ideas" Issue #29
is out NOW
I am very excited and fortunate to have 3 projects publishing in this issue.

Today, I will share the projects here on my blog
all the step by step and materials list
is in the magazine.

My commissioned projects was to create with old jewellery boxes.
MY daughter had a couple of them, Now that she is a little older, she has finished playing with them. They still play music, when you turn the key,
so I recycled them and altered them to make them new.

The first one I altered it into a shabby chic, very pretty jewel box,
  It was originally
a "Dora, the Explorer" jewel box.... I have
a photo of it below, of what it originally looked like....
lots of lace, velvet flowers from "Meg's Garden" and some of the
Papers from "Kaisercraft".....

The orginal box.. before its transformation.....

Next is a gentleman's gift box, decorated with
stunning metal pieces and using the
"Couture Creations" Diecut - Art Deco Border.....

The top view with metal and paint finishing touches.
This was an box I picked up from
a discount dollar store.......

And my last jewellery box was originally
all quilted and painted pastel pink, and I turned it into
a treasure box for a little boy.....
A place to keep little shells, and bits & bobs....

I decorated and lined the inside ...

Thanks go to "Kaisercraft" for the papers
"Meg's Garden" for the velvet flowers, trimmings and lace
and "Couture Creations" for the diecuts.

I thank these companies for allowing me to showcase their products
on my blog and in the magazine.

Now, all the materials and the steps by steps
on how to make your very own simple altered jewel box is
in the step by step in the magazine,
so do yourself a favour and purchase ASI #29 magazine at your local
Scrapbooking store or newsagent shop.
My altered box is on the cover - it a small photo
but it is on the cover...  Hooray... very excited!!!!

Until next time, please let me know if you have
created your own little altered jewel box.
I would love to see your take on it.....

Cheers  Adriana  xx  :)

trying to get back to some kind of normal routine, working, school runs and commitments and generally tidying up things at home.....
But for some reason I keep day-dreaming about all the places I just recently been to.

I have been so, so fortunate and so lucky to see these wonderful and amazing places
 in real life,

Dreams to come true...well, My Dreams have and today, if you are

So here are some of my photos....yes, I say SOME because I have over 4000 photos in total to edit and look at. ....... need to find the time to do this soon!!!!!

We had a wonderful, amazing time and some fabulous experiences along the way.

First stop was
ROME -
We have been to Rome before but to show my daughter all the
ancient buildings and walk around the city, was just awesome.
She found it so interesting and all this history behind
every building was fascinating.
We loved Rome, the food, the city and wonderful sites.

Travelled to Naples and then Pompeii.

Next city was FLORENCE and then PISA.
I loved Florence - such an amazing city - so much history and art
Went to the art galleries - saw some fantastic artwork and sculptures.

Starting the day with a big breakfast !!! The biggest grin  !!

It rained a little on this day

Travelled to VENICE - Loved this city also, the islands, atmosphere and a
fabulous gondola ride through the Grand Canal.
Burano Island was a highlight of the visit here too.

Then on to PARIS.......wow we had the best days here too.....so many photos
I leave some of them to scrap... HEE HEE  !!

Disneyland PARIS

The whole month of October is Halloween Month in Disneyland
the Main Street was decorated with pumpkins and beautiful gardens.
There was a street parade and celebration fireworks to end the trip.

Luxenburg Gardens - Paris - so amazing and beautiful was this huge parklands -
a place where the locals go to relax, so we did too and had
bought a picnic lunch.

Inside the Lourve.

Then the last stop -
London - I still have more photos to edit

So many wonderful memories shared with my family.
Many more scrapping pages and journalling to create very soon
about our wonderful adventures ....

Everytime I look at these photos - I wish I was back there to
see it all again..... maybe one day we will go back :)
